Associate Prof. Dr. Yalçın Açıkgöz

Dr. Acikgoz began his professional career in the Turkish Army after graduating from the Turkish Military Academy with a B.S. in Systems Engineering. He has served in various positions in the Army, including fires team leader at a mechanized brigade, a deployment in Afghanistan, cadet team leader in Turkish Military Academy, and manpower analyst in the General Staff HQ. After completing his Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, he left his role in the Turkish Army and joined Appalachian State University as a faculty member. Dr. Acikgoz has a variety of research interests including employee recruitment and job search, job choice and decision-making, applicant reactions, applications of social media in human resources, and vocational fit. He currently teaches undergraduate-level general, personality, cross-cultural, and industrial psychology as well as graduate-level performance management and staffing courses. Assistant Prof. Dr. Burak Özkum

Dr. Ozkum received a B.S. in Business Administration, an M.S. in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology from Middle East Technical University, and a Ph.D. in I/O Psychology from the University of Tulsa. He is currently a faculty member at Illinois State University, teaching statistics, research methods, and personnel psychology. His research interests include personality, personality assessment, and the role of personality compositions in teams. |
